Manchester United staged a stunning comeback at Old Trafford to register their first win of the new English Premier League season. After suffering a shocking defeat against Hull City in the season opener, United roared back with a dominant 5-2 victory over Ipswich Town in a thrilling encounter. Captain Bruno Fernandes was the star of the show, scoring a brilliant hat-trick to lead his side to a comprehensive win.

Ipswich Town took the lead against the run of play in the 29th minute when Leif Davis found the back of the net. The visitors' lead was short-lived as Manchester United equalized in the 40th minute through Bruno Fernandes, who finished off a well-worked assist from Matheus Cunha.

The momentum shifted completely in United's favour after the break. In the 56th minute, United took the lead after Ipswich defender Jacob Greaves scored an own goal. The defender inadvertently deflected Harry Maguire's powerful shot into his own net while attempting to make a block. Although Ipswich players appealed for a handball, VAR reviewed the incident and allowed the goal to stand.

Minutes later, United were awarded a penalty after Cunha was fouled inside the box. Bruno Fernandes stepped up and converted it calmly to extend the lead. The Portuguese midfielder completed his hat-trick in the 68th minute to put the game beyond Ipswich's reach. In the 82nd minute, Bryan Mbeumo added United's fifth goal after being set up by Fernandes. In stoppage time, Chuba Akpom pulled one back for Ipswich, capitalizing on an error from Lisandro Martinez.

In another high-scoring clash, Chelsea defeated Brighton 4-3 to secure their second consecutive victory under new manager Xabi Alonso. At Stamford Bridge, Romeo Lavia opened the scoring for the Blues. Pedro Neto doubled the lead with a fine header from a cross by Rogers, before Joao Pedro made it 3-0 with a superb counter-attacking goal.

Brighton fought back through Malik Yalcouye, who scored one, and then benefited from a Joao Pedro own goal to make it 3-2. However, Cole Palmer restored Chelsea's two-goal cushion in the 74th minute with a stunning strike from outside the box. Pascal Gross scored a late consolation for Brighton in stoppage time, but Chelsea held on for a 4-3 win. The match also marked the debut of goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who recently joined Chelsea from Aston Villa.

Elsewhere, Leeds United and Brentford played out a 1-1 draw with goals from Kevin Schade for Brentford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin for Leeds. In the final game of the day, Sunderland edged past Fulham 1-0, with Wilson Isidor scoring the winner.
