Actress Parvathy Thiruvoth has said that society often tends to portray people who raise their voices for what is right and stand firmly for their principles as villains. According to the actress, even if some people step aside or are excluded, nothing will come to a standstill. She said that, ultimately, it is art that will survive. Parvathy made the remarks while speaking at a promotional event for her upcoming film ‘Prathama Drishya Thya Kuttakkar’.

Parvathy also made it clear that she continues to stand by the position she took regarding the film Kasaba. She said that if she were asked about the movie even today, her opinion would remain unchanged, regardless of what others might say. According to the actress, her comments were based on her own thoughts and perspective, and she has no intention of changing her position because of criticism.

Responding to a question about whether she had lost opportunities in the Malayalam film industry following her remarks about Kasaba, Parvathy said the episode helped reveal certain things and people that needed to come to light. She also pointed out that her decision to step away would not create an irreplaceable gap in Malayalam cinema. At one point in her career, she said, she was quite comfortable with the idea of stepping aside.

Parvathy further said that she has never believed that she had achieved something indispensable in the industry. She explained that moving forward in her career has always involved hard work and carefully choosing the projects she wanted to be part of.

Speaking about the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), Parvathy said its formation was not the result of a sudden decision. Those involved were aware that continuing on that path could potentially put their careers at risk. She said the journey also involved facing several threats and difficult situations.

However, Parvathy stressed that people who feel they have nothing left to lose cannot easily be intimidated. Her comments once again highlight her continued commitment to speaking openly about issues and standing by her convictions within the Malayalam film industry.
