**Thrissur:** For one family in Nattika, a dream that once seemed as vast as the sky has become a remarkable reality. The family of Iyyani Rajan and Sajila now has four pilots, with brothers Devaraj and Sreeraj and their respective wives pursuing careers in aviation.

Devaraj, who spent nearly 15 years flying different aircraft with the Indian Coast Guard, is now a pilot with IndiGo. His wife, Shruthi, who served as a Deputy Commandant in the Indian Coast Guard, joined the airline after retiring from the service. Devaraj's brother Sreeraj is also an IndiGo pilot. Sreha, Sreeraj's wife, developed an interest in aviation after completing her medical degree and is currently undergoing pilot training.

Devaraj joined the Indian Coast Guard on July 5, 2010, and has accumulated more than 6,000 hours of flying experience. He is qualified to operate seven different types of aircraft and has experience in both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aviation. More than 1,500 hours of his flying experience have been on helicopters.

His career has also taken him beyond India's borders. As a Detachment Commander, Devaraj served in Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, Hong Kong and the Maldives. He has successfully operated aircraft from challenging airfields, including short-runway locations such as Agatti and Ramanathapuram.

Devaraj was also involved in rescue and relief operations in disaster-hit regions, including areas affected by Cyclone Ockhi. His years of service with the Coast Guard gave him extensive experience in demanding operational environments before he moved into commercial aviation.

His wife Shruthi also served as a Deputy Commandant in the Indian Coast Guard. After contributing to national security and maritime operations, she joined IndiGo. She is the daughter of Bahrain-based architect Satheesh and Leena.

Sreeraj's journey into aviation followed a different route. After completing his training at the Emirates Aviation Academy, he worked as a flight dispatcher for nearly nine years with leading airlines in Dubai. His experience gave him a strong understanding of aircraft operations and aviation technology. He now works as a pilot and also guides young people who aspire to build careers in aviation.

His wife Sneha, daughter of Shashi and Vineetha from Wayanad, initially completed a medical degree before deciding to pursue her passion for flying. She is currently in the final stage of her pilot training.

What began as a family's dream of reaching the skies has therefore grown into an extraordinary aviation story. With three already established in professional aviation and the fourth nearing the completion of her pilot training, the family has turned its passion for flying into a shared journey across the skies.
