**Kannur: **The CPI district secretariat member and former MLA T.I. Madhusoodanan and Payyannur MLA V. Kunhikannan.

Addressing a press conference, Madhusoodanan challenged Kunhikannan to prove that he had taken even one rupee from the party's martyr fund. He said money had been collected from the public and that details regarding the collections had been communicated to the people. According to Madhusoodanan, the matter had also been explained to party workers and sympathisers across all 267 CPI(M) branches in the Payyannur area.

Madhusoodanan also levelled several political allegations against Kunhikannan, including claims regarding his election campaign and his political conduct. These allegations were made by Madhusoodanan during the press conference.

He further criticised Kunhikannan's political approach and advised him to study the writings of former Kerala Chief Minister C. Achutha Menon concerning Communist leader K. Damodaran, instead of repeatedly citing Damodaran to support his arguments.

The CPI(M) leadership said the proposed door-to-door campaign is aimed at rebuilding the party's support base in Payyannur and strengthening its connection with the people. Party workers will visit individual households, seek public feedback and ask residents to openly point out any shortcomings they observe in the party's functioning.

The leaders said mistakes identified during the interactions would be examined and corrected. They maintained that the people remain the party's greatest strength and that the CPI(M) intends to move forward by bringing people together.Madhusoodanan also questioned where the alleged threat was contained in Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's remarks at a political explanatory meeting in Payyannur.

CPI(M) leaders further alleged that Kunhikannan's continued campaign against the LDF candidate, including what they described as personal attacks, misinformation and misleading claims during the Assembly election, was not in keeping with political ethics.

The press conference was attended by CPI(M) district secretariat member and former MLA T.I. Madhusoodanan, area secretary P. Santhosh, district committee member Sarin Sasi, K.K. Gangadharan, and M. Raghavan.
