**Ujjain: **Madhya Pradesh Police have arrested Kali Nand Giri, who is known by the self-styled title ‘Lady Aghori’, following an alleged incident at a cremation ground in Ujjain involving human remains. A video purportedly showing Giri taking portions from a burning funeral pyre and consuming them has surfaced on social media. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and the circumstances surrounding the recording.

The alleged act has drawn criticism from several members of the religious community. Mahamandaleshwar Shaileshanand Giri of Juna Akhara said such behaviour was unacceptable and did not have a place in a civilised society.

According to police, the arrest followed a complaint filed by Vishnu Maharaj, who oversees the cremation ground. Authorities have registered allegations including trespassing onto the cremation premises, disrupting funeral proceedings and disrespecting the deceased.Giri has reportedly been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.
