**hiruvananthapuram:** The Confederation of Online Media-India for 2026–2028, along with information on COMIndia’s office bearers and Executive Committee.

The Indian Digital Publishers Content Grievance Council (IDPCGC) was reconstituted in July. The latest website update follows that announcement. The website now provides formal details of the council’s current structure and COMIndia’s organizational leadership, along with information on how the Level II Self-Regulatory Body for complaints related to online media operates, a grievance submission form, and a membership application form.

COMIndia’s grievance redressal body, the IDPCGC, is registered with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, as a Level II Self-Regulatory Body for publishers of news and related content under Rule 12 of the Information Technology Rules, 2021.

Former Supreme Court Justice Cyriac Joseph serves as Chairman of the seven-member IDPCGC. He has served as Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand and Karnataka High Courts, as a Judge of the Delhi and Kerala High Courts, and as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India. Justice Cyriac Joseph has also served as a member and Acting Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission and as Kerala Lokayukta.

In addition to him, three other external national members serve on the council. They are Dr. Venu Rajamony, former Press Secretary to the President of India and former Indian Ambassador to the Netherlands; Dr. George Onakkoor, noted writer and Sahitya Akademi Award recipient; and George Kallivayalil, a senior New Delhi-based journalist and Editor of Deepika.

Three representatives nominated by COMIndia are members of the seven-member council. They are COMIndia President Vincent Nellikunnel, representing Sathyam Online; COMIndia Secretary Soymon Mathew, representing Malayali Vartha; and COMIndia Treasurer K. K. Sreejith, representing Truevision News.

The experience of members from the judiciary, diplomacy, literature, and journalism is expected to strengthen the council’s independent functioning. Complaints received under the system are first handled at the publisher level. Matters that remain unresolved, or decisions challenged by complainants, are referred to the IDPCGC, the Level II Self-Regulatory Body. Complaints that remain unresolved at this level are referred to the Level III mechanism at the Central Government level.

The President of COMIndia’s governing body for 2026–2028 is Vincent Nellikunnel, Editor of Sathyam Online. Soymon Mathew, Editor of Malayali Vartha, serves as General Secretary, while K. K. Sreejith, Editor of Truevision News, serves as Treasurer.

Kunhikannan Muttath of Kasargod Vartha and Bijunu K. of Kerala Online News serve as Vice Presidents, while K. R. Ratheesh of Gramajyothi and Smitha Atholi of Malabari News serve as Joint Secretaries. A seven-member Executive Committee also forms part of the leadership structure.

Saji Kurian of South Live, Abdul Mujeeb of K Vartha, K. Shaji of Express Kerala, Ajay Muthana of Vyga News, Al Ameen of E Vartha, and Esahaque Eswaramangalam of Malabar News are Executive Committee members.

Established in 2017 and headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, COMIndia is an apex body of independent online news portals and a leading online media management association in Malayalam. It represents new-age news publishers and media entrepreneurs, while working to educate, empower, and provide leadership to the sector with a focus on ethical standards, self-regulation, and responsible digital journalism.
