**Thiruvananthapuram: **KSEB CMD Dr. M.G. Rajamanikyam has urged people across Kerala to cooperate by reducing electricity consumption as much as possible amid the continuing power shortage in the state. Speaking to the media about the electricity crisis, Rajamanikyam also revealed that his children had questioned him about the situation at home.

> “Even my children asked, ‘It was after their father became the KSEB Chairman that the power cuts started, wasn’t it?’ I explained the circumstances of the crisis to them as well,” Rajamanikyam said.

The KSEB CMD made the remarks while discussing the ongoing electricity crisis in Kerala. He appealed to everyone to cooperate by limiting power consumption as much as possible in view of the continuing shortage.

Rajamanikyam also said that the increase in heat and the resulting rise in electricity consumption were contributing to the worsening crisis. He attributed the increase in temperatures and consumption to the El Niño phenomenon.

Meanwhile, against the backdrop of the worsening electricity crisis in the state, Minister Sunny Joseph has called a high-level meeting for today. The meeting is scheduled to be held at 11 am.

The KSEB CMD, directors and senior officials are expected to participate in the meeting. The discussions will take place as the state continues to face a power shortage and authorities urge consumers to reduce electricity usage as much as possible.

The situation has led to increased attention on electricity consumption and supply in Kerala, with the KSEB leadership seeking public cooperation while the government reviews the ongoing crisis at the high-level meeting.
