**Malappuram:** Steps have been intensified to speed up the construction process for the Revenue Tower, a major project expected to transform the face of Malappuram city. The project, sanctioned for Malappuram in the state budget, is expected to cost Rs 65 crore. A meeting chaired by District Collector Dr. Vinay Goyal was held to discuss the project and accelerate its implementation. Administrative sanction for Rs 7 crore for the construction of the Revenue Tower was received last month.

The state-of-the-art Revenue Tower complex will be constructed in the Malappuram Civil Station premises, in front of the District Collector’s office. The complex will have parking facilities for 600 vehicles. Two large towers, each planned across 10 floors, will be constructed as part of the project.

The main objective is to bring several government offices under one roof and ensure that the public can access government services more quickly and conveniently. The Revenue Tower is being planned as a modern office complex with facilities designed according to the operational requirements of different departments.

District Collector Dr. Vinay Goyal directed the heads of various departments to prepare the comprehensive master plan required for the Revenue Tower project without delay. He also instructed officials to ensure that the construction works are completed within the scheduled timeframe.

The construction phases will be planned in a manner that does not affect the day-to-day functioning of the existing offices or public services. The meeting also assessed the practical possibility of beginning construction without immediately shifting the existing buildings.

There is an understanding that the space that will become available after government offices currently functioning at Kottappadi are shifted to the Civil Station will be used for the development of the taluk hospital.

The meeting was attended by ADM P.O. Sadiq, T.K. Ahammed, Assistant Private Secretary to Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty, Malappuram Municipality Public Works Standing Committee Chairman Haris Amiyan, and the minister’s representatives P.A. Salam, P.K. Bava and K.P.M. Mansoor. Senior officials from the Public Works and PRD departments also participated in the meeting.
