The arrests were made by Nilambur Sub-Inspector K.M. Arshid.

Police had earlier seized 0.4 grams of MDMA and 0.5 grams of cannabis from Subrahmanyan. MDMA was also recovered from a car found crashed into a wall near Reena’s house, according to the police.

During the subsequent investigation, police said they received information that Suhail, the college lecturer, was regularly supplying MDMA to Vivek and Reena. Police said the investigation provided information that the lecturer was allegedly selling the drug on a wider scale to students and friends.

Suhail, a native of Arimbra in Mongam, has reportedly been working as a Statistics lecturer at the Mampad college for the past three years. According to the police, he admitted to purchasing narcotic substances from wholesale suppliers in the Kondotty and Manjeri areas and selling them. Police also said that he admitted to being a regular user of MDMA.

The investigation was conducted under the supervision of Nilambur Circle Inspector N.B. Shaiju, based on the directions of Nilambur Deputy Superintendent of Police K. Rafeek.

The police team that carried out the arrests included squad members P. Sabirali, P. Sajeesh, C.K. Sajeesh and M. Krishnadas. The allegations regarding the sale and use of MDMA are based on the position and findings reported by the police during the investigation.
