**Kochi:** North Paravur Police have registered a case against the licence holder and an employee of a toddy shop near Cherayipadam on the Paravur-Cherai Road in connection with an incident involving three minors, including two 16-year-old girls, who consumed toddy at the shop. According to the police, two 16-year-old girls and a minor boy had visited the toddy shop and consumed toddy. While travelling by bus afterwards, one of the girls vomited. She got off the bus in the Munambam area and subsequently collapsed by the roadside.

Following the incident, bus staff and local residents intervened and informed the Munambam Police. Police reached the spot, shifted the girl to a hospital and informed her relatives about the incident.

A medical examination reportedly found that the physical discomfort was caused by excessive consumption of toddy. Following a complaint from the relatives, Paravur Police registered a case and began an investigation into the incident.

Police said it was not clear whether the owner and employee of the toddy shop were aware that the children were minors. No arrests have been recorded so far, according to the police.

The case concerns the serving of toddy to three minors at the shop, and the investigation is continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. The children’s health condition improved following treatment, according to the information provided by the police.
