According to Baby, central agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are being used by the BJP for political purposes. He alleged that strategies involving central agencies to split opposition parties and pressure their leaders to join the BJP may have had an impact on parties including the Congress, but would not work against the Communist Party.

Baby also criticised the Congress leadership over its response to action by central agencies. He said the Congress's national leadership had strongly opposed ED action when Congress leaders in Karnataka were targeted, but was taking a different approach when the CPI(M) was facing similar action in Kerala. He alleged that Congress leaders in Kerala were supporting what he described as the Modi government's targeting of the CPI(M). Baby asked Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge to clarify their position on the matter.

He further alleged that central agencies were now moving against T Veena, the daughter of Pinarayi Vijayan, with the former Kerala Chief Minister as the target. Baby described the action as politically motivated and said the CPI(M) would respond through both political and legal means. The CPI(M) has publicly characterised the ED's action against Vijayan and others in the CMRL-Exalogic matter as politically motivated, while the allegations and investigation remain contested.

Baby also alleged that the present UDF government in Kerala had no objection to the appointment of RSS supporters as vice-chancellors or to the inclusion of RSS members in university senates. These were presented as his political criticisms of the government's position.
