New Delhi: Delhi Public Works Minister Parvesh Sharma allegedly slapped a young man during a road inspection in Tilak Nagar after a dispute over the quality of road construction. The incident involved Sahib Singh, the personal assistant of Aam Aadmi Party leader and Tilak Nagar MLA Jarnail Singh. Visuals of the incident have since emerged.

According to the position presented in the report, Sharma was in Tilak Nagar to inspect road construction work when Sahib Singh attempted to record the proceedings on his mobile phone. The minister allegedly pushed the mobile phone away and slapped Singh in the face.

The incident took place amid a disagreement between Sharma and Jarnail Singh over the construction of the road. The MLA reportedly questioned the quality of the work and used his hands to remove portions of the road's tar, arguing that the construction was not of sufficient quality.

Jarnail Singh told the minister that such a road should not be constructed and claimed that it would not even last for 15 hours. He then approached the minister carrying pieces of the tar that had been removed from the road.

It was during this exchange that Sahib Singh, who was recording the proceedings, was allegedly slapped by the minister. Singh later said that he had filed a complaint against Sharma and that further action would depend on the decision taken by the police.

Sharma, however, gave a different explanation for the incident. According to the minister's position, the young man had abused him and his family and behaved improperly. Sharma said that, given his state of mind at the time, he reacted in the manner anyone might have reacted under such circumstances.The incident has drawn attention after footage of the confrontation became public.
