India stormed into the Asian Games cricket final after defeating Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the semifinal. Chasing a target of 170 set by India, Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 45 runs. Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Abhishek Sharma took two wickets each as the Sri Lankan innings collapsed under pressure. India will face Pakistan in the final.

Sri Lanka struggled from the beginning of their chase as the Indian bowlers dominated proceedings. Jasprit Bumrah gave India an excellent start by taking two wickets in the very first over. In the second over, Sri Lankan batter Lasith was run out. Axar Patel then claimed two wickets in the fourth over, putting Sri Lanka under further pressure.

At the end of four overs, Sri Lanka were five wickets down for 18 runs. Sineath Jayawardena, Lasith, Sohan and Ashan Bhandara were dismissed for ducks. The remaining batters also fell in quick succession. Chamika Karunaratne scored four runs, Wanuja Sahan made one, and Tharindu Ratnayake contributed five before the Sri Lankan innings ended at 45 runs.

Earlier, India scored 169 for seven in their allotted 20 overs after being put in to bat. Ishan Kishan produced a powerful half-century and remained unbeaten on 80 from 46 balls, providing the main strength to India's innings.

India's opening partnership failed to provide the desired start. Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for seven runs, while one-down batter Sanju Samson also returned after scoring seven. India were reduced to 24 for two.

On a pitch that supported spin, Indian batters initially found it difficult to score freely. Opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gradually shifted to an attacking approach, helping India move past the 50-run mark. He scored 38 from 21 balls, including six fours and two sixes.

Captain Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for 13 runs, followed by Axar Patel for eight. Despite the regular loss of wickets, Ishan Kishan held one end together and kept India moving forward. His attacking batting against the Sri Lankan bowlers helped India cross the 100-run mark.

Tilak Varma was dismissed after scoring two runs. In the final overs, Ishan became increasingly aggressive, putting Sri Lanka under pressure. With Ishan contributing the bulk of the runs, India finished on 169 for seven after 20 overs. India then dismissed Sri Lanka for 45 to secure a 124-run victory and book their place in the Asian Games cricket final against Pakistan.
